Project X 64 Kayak for Sale - £400

I’m selling my playboat to free up money and space for a sea kayak. The boat has seen some good use on artificial courses and G3 rivers, but the hull is still in good condition. The bottom has the usual scratches, none of them deep. I’m 193 cm / 6’4”, with UK size 12 feet and have paddled the boat pretty comfortably for years. The ratchet-strapped backrest provides excellent adjustability, along with quite aggressive thigh braces that are also highly adjustable. It was my first and only playboat, and was straightforward to learn to cartwheel in. The boat has strong edges, which allow excellent control in holes.

The left sidewall of the boat has one slightly deeper scratch from coming up against a sharp bolt on a car, but it’s nothing that would threaten the boat’s wellbeing (and it’s not in an area that sees any significant wear otherwise).

The outfitting has some fairly extensive cosmetic damage (wavesport have ‘whiteout’ outfitting, which has a rubberised coating that basically peels off with a bit of UV exposure). The actual padding underneath is still in good condition, but I accept it’s aesthetically unattractive. If you’re concerned that this might fail sooner than you’d like (I don’t think it will), whiteout outfitting is still popularly available in outlet stores and direct from wavesport. They still make the boat itself, so you’ll be still be able to get replacement parts in the unlikely event that you need them. The boat comes with hip-pads which are usually sold separately, but I would argue are essential for good performance.

The grab points on the boat are all clearly stainless, have security bolts (so you can lock the boat to your roof), and are in good condition. The hull colour scheme is a limited edition red-white-and-blue - not one of the four colours that are available to buy today.
